THE exact picture I flew to Iceland to grab - praying to get ideal conditions, ideal conditions were exactly what I got. With an iconic landmark in the Kirkjufell Mountain, a long exposure involving beautiful waterfalls, drifting clouds and two people added in for context, this scene was absolutely stunning.
This iconic black church located in the Southeast part of Iceland dates back over 150 years. Can you just imagine the weather, the scenery and the people this church has witnessed over the generations? Yet it looks brand new!
Iceland has some truly impressive churches and this one really stood out. Located near Reynisfjara Beach on Iceland's South Coast, this red and white church with the cemetery beside it, offered a stunning contrast to the brown hill and sky that morning.
Iceland offers a wide variety of beautiful churches. Often with poor weather, having churches throughout the island country was important to each community. This beautiful red and white church atop a hill offered an incredible scene driving around the western side of Iceland
There is no more beautiful horse in the world than the Icelandic Horse. This horse's beautiful mane really stands out and the horse is truly small but mighty, with a unique gait to boot.
The Icefields Parkway is perhaps Canada's most beautiful drive. This stretch of highway runs between Lake Louise and Jasper and brings together Banff and Jasper National Parks. This scene, just after dawn, was spectacular and the open highway allowed me to photograph this to perfection.
Perhaps my ultimate favorite place on this planet (that I've visited so far) is Moraine Lake. I could visit this lake every month and enjoy every visit. The incredible green waters of the lake, the mountain peaks jutting out from above...there is simply no better scene to me.
Just outside the town of Banff lies a beautiful marsh area known as Vermilion Lakes. With rugged mountains all around, the serenity of this area is incredible. Love the colors and every five minutes it seemed to change.
Whatcha lookin' at? This beautiful Icelandic Horse and I enjoyed a few minutes of banter before he seemingly posed for this photograph. The Icelandic horses are truly incredible and I can't imagine the harsh winters they face!
Everyone say it...awwwwe. These two playful cubs were entertaining to say the least. With their mother lurking at ground level not far away, these two baby bear cubs were enjoying more than a few playful moments with each other roughly thirty feet above the forest floor in Jasper National Park, Canada
